We started to hear the work koozie in the mid 70’s. Many fond memories of keeping a drink cool with a funny or memorable koozie. First of all everyone spells and calls “koozies” differently, everything from cozies, beer holders to beer stubby holders, can coolers, stubbies. I personally call them Koozies simply because that’s the most popular term I hear. I always though that koozies were something that were local to America but hear they are very popular in places like Australia where they call them eco holders, they are so popular Aussies don’t drink beer without them. And in south east Asia and some parts of Europe they are catching on.
A koozie is another word for a can holder, made to keep aluminum cans or beer bottles cold and prevent condensation from forming which keeps your hands dry and liquid cold, Koozies have been around for the last 30 years helping solve the biggest problem with cans which is they are don’t keep the liquid cold for more than 15 minutes on a hot day. With a koozies you can keep a beer at 40F for an average of 40 minutes on a hot day! Koozies are made from many materials like foam, polyurethane, neoprene (wet suit material), leather, nylon and even steel.
At the end of the day, a day using Koozies is a good day.
